We report three pediatric patients with retention despite negative evaluations for obstruction, infection, or neurological disease. In each case, psychosocial stressors (developmental anxiety, family reinforcement, school distress) contributed. Multidisciplinary management improved symptoms in two patients; outcome was uncertain in one.
